Produced in cooperation with the Council on Books in Wartime, Words at War serves to provide a true-life documentary on action in World War 2 from the people who lived and experienced it. It was aired from June 1943 to June 1945 right in the midst of the war with stories of the battlefronts and the home front written and often told by many an un-sung hero. The shows are of great historical value each providing a "living record of this war and the things for which we fight".
