Simon Templar, even the name sounds sophisticated. Vincent Price was a respected character actor in Hollywood for years and had done quite a bit of radio too, guest staring on such shows as "Suspense" and other drama themed programs. But the radio work he is probably best known for is "The Saint", a man about town with a quick wit and even quicker ability to solve a
crime. Nothing seemed too tough for him to handle and his witty but biting sarcasm towards criminals was as sharp as any weapon. "The Saint" was first a series of popular books written by Leslie Charteris, movies naturally followed and then radio. Vincent Price played "The Saint" for CBS in 1947-1948, Mutual Radio in 1948-1950 and NBC in 1950-1951.
