The Philco Summer Hour musical variety, NBC Blue Network In the summer of 1944--June 11th to be exact--the Radio Hall of Fame became the Philco Radio Summer Hour. The musical variety program featured Paul Whiteman's orchestra and chorus, supported by Bob Johnson, Hi Lo Jack, the Dame, Eileen Wood, and many other visiting musical guests. WWII still raged, and Philco included news updates, fresh off the Teletype machines, in each show to keep the audience apprised of the latest developments on the European Front.
