Series Description:
FRONTIER GENTLEMAN was a Western that viewed the Wild West through the eyes of a British correspondent from the London Times. That reporter was J.B. Kendle, also known as Britt Kendle, who, besides being a reporter, was a veteran of the British army. He was sent to America to write about the people who lived in the Wild West. He was quite adept with fist, gun and knife and was smart enough to
know when to use them. Britt was played by John Dehner , who is probably better known as Paladin in the radio version of HAVE GUN, WILL TRAVEL.
The show was directed by Tony Ellis who also wrote for GUNSMOKE. It displayed mature, well written plots. All the acting was very good, especially by Mr. Dehner.
Unfortunately, radio's Golden Age was in it's twilight and new shows had to face stiff competition from TV. FRONTIER GENTLEMAN lasted
less than a year and only 40 episodes were produced. |
