John Dunnings "Encyclopedia of Old Time Radio" refers to the Show as a Juvenile Adventure. But the story line is about a wild horse named Champion (sound familiar?) and about a boy named Ricky who tames him and rides him. The Show loosely referred to the horse as "Gene Autry's Champion" but never filled in the gaps about how the horse came to be wild.  It's listed here in Drama and Adventure instead of Western Adventure, for this reason
